About
I have spent more than 25 years building and operating production systems, first as a Java developer and architect, and for the last decade and more as a DevOps, Continuous Delivery and platform engineer. Much of my recent work has been in fintech and payments, where reliability, incident response and clear operating practices matter every day.
I like removing manual work, making the path from idea to production visible, and helping teams get to the bottom of hard production problems. I am equally comfortable deep in the platform and in the discussions about where it should go next.
What I work on
Kubernetes
EKS with Bottlerocket and Karpenter, GitOps with Argo CD, upgrades, and troubleshooting workloads in production.
Infrastructure as code
Reusable Terraform modules, templates and golden paths that many teams can build on.
Continuous Delivery
Pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI and Jenkins. I have helped several organisations go from release cycles of weeks to hours.
Observability and incidents
Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana and ELK. SLOs, alerting, on-call, root cause analysis and the follow-up work that prevents repeats.
AI-assisted operations
Practical use of AI agents in operations, including a Claude-based workflow for structured incident investigation.

AWS and Kubernetes platform for payment systems across 50+ AWS accounts and 12 clusters. Terraform, GitOps, observability, on-call and developer support for application teams.

Built and ran the AWS platform used by engineering teams, owned the platform backlog, and supported PCI compliance and multi-account planning.

Open source and writing
- Jenkins Delivery Pipeline Plugin Started the project and was one of its main contributors. It reached about 7,000 installations worldwide.
- The Continuous Delivery Maturity Model Co-author, InfoQ, 2013.
- Patent PCT/SE2004/000449 Co-inventor, a method and apparatus for supporting content purchases over a public communication network.
Outside work
I keep tinkering with automation at home, including a small Kubernetes cluster running on Raspberry Pis.
